Booked my Tiguan in, nervous about the ceramic coating upsell
So after months of going back and forth I’ve finally booked my Tiguan in for a full detail. It’s a 2020 in deep black pearl and the paint is honestly a disaster, full of swirls from the previous owner and some hard water spots on the glass that I can’t shift. What pushed me to finally do it was a colleague showing me his Passat after Volkswagen detailing by Exotic Car Care, and the finish was genuinely impressive, not just glossy but the depth in the black was something else. Anyway my appointment is next week and I’m already dreading the phone call where they try to sell me a ceramic coating on top of everything. I know coatings are good and all but I’m not ready to spend that much in one go. Has anyone dealt with them and do they pressure you into add ons or are they reasonable about sticking to what you asked for? Also curious if they’ll tell me honestly whether the paint even needs a full correction or if a lighter polish would do, because I’d rather not pay for stages I don’t need.
