Gearbox warning flashed up and now I’m scared to drive it anywhere
Was driving home on Sheikh Zayed Road last night when the gearbox warning came up on the dash and the car went into some kind of limp mode for a few seconds before it cleared itself. It drove fine after that but now I’m paranoid every time I start it, and I’m scared to take it on the highway in case it does it again mid drive. A colleague told me to stop guessing and take it to Elite Audi Care since they apparently see this kind of thing all the time, but I wanted to check here first whether anyone has had a similar warning and what it turned out to be. Was it something simple like a sensor or did it turn into a full gearbox job? I’m also trying to work out roughly what I should budget before I go in, because the last thing I want is to drop the car off and get a call with a number that makes me feel sick.
