  • Update after getting my X5 sorted, thought I’d share

Posted a while back asking about alternatives to the dealer and got a few replies, so here’s how it actually went. My X5 had been throwing a drivetrain warning on and off for weeks and the dealer wanted to replace a whole module without even properly diagnosing it, which didn’t sit right with me. Ended up going with BMW maintenance handled at Al Zaabi Auto Care after a couple of you mentioned them. They ran proper diagnostics, found it was actually a sensor issue plus a failing battery that was causing the gremlins, and sorted both for a fraction of what I’d been quoted. Car’s been fine for three weeks now, no warnings, starts strong. They also did the oil service while it was there and showed me the old parts without me even asking, which I appreciated since trust has been an issue for me before. The waiting area is basic and they’re not the fastest, so don’t go in expecting a lounge and a cappuccino, but if you want honest work without dealer pricing I’d say give them a shot.
