Pokemon TCG Pocket: A4 Expansion & Trade Revamp

Pokemon TCG Pocket fans should mark their calendars for a busy end of July. According to reliable insider Centro Leaks, the next main expansion—designated A4—will launch on July 30. Unlike the themed booster packs released between major sets, A4 is a “main expansion” similar to Genetic Apex and Space-Time Smackdown, meaning a larger card pool and new mechanics. This timing follows DeNA’s monthly release pattern, with new content typically arriving mid-week. Players are advised to start saving Pack Hourglasses now to maximize their pulls from the new set.

Trading and Ranked Battles Overhaul

The same week brings a major trading system overhaul on July 29. Since trading’s launch, players criticized high costs, trade-specific items, and limited tradable cards. Developer DeNA responded by simplifying the system. New features include a card wishlist visible to trade partners, making negotiations easier. The requirement for Trade Tokens will be replaced by Shinedust, a resource earned through gameplay. Existing Trade Tokens can be converted: up to 60 tokens become 60 Pack Hourglasses (a one-time option), and each token can be converted to ten Shinedust with no limit, in units of 10, 100, or 1000 Shinedust. This shift aims to reduce the friction that plagued the original system and make trading more accessible.
